All asset tokens are issued as Solana Program Library (SPL) tokens on the Solana network. Solana was chosen for its high throughput and low latency, ensuring token transactions settle in ~1 second or less. This gives Liquid users near real-time finality for asset trades, a critical feature for markets like real estate where delays can erode value (In the future, Liquid plans to launch its own Layer-1, LiquidChain, to further achieve sub-second finality and >50,000 TPS for RWA trading see Roadmap.)
